I actually looked into this because I’m a huge Mars fan and the reason it’s not being used is because the Alberta government hasn’t requested it.
Logistically it didn’t make sense because the nearest lake they could draw off of was Slave Lake which meant a 2.5 hour turnaround time between drops
Also the way they are fighting the fire at the moment (preserving infastructure and keeping evacuation routes open) they are more concerned with small precision drops on a targeted area VS 1 massive drop over a wide area
